Overview
Dr. Praveen Sharma is a consultant Gastroenterologist based in New Delhi. Dr. Sharma has an MD in Medicine and a DM in Gastroenterology as his postgraduate qualifications and specializes in liver disease and transplantation.
He pursued the DM degree in the department of gastroenterology at the GB Pant Hospital for three years. In November 2007, he was appointed as senior research associate.
Dr. Sharma then served as a fellow hepatologist in the liver transplant unit of Hospital Paul Brusse, Villejuif, France in 2008. This hospital is recognized globally for its expertise in transplantation in co-infected patients (HIV+HBV/HCV) and domino transplants. Subsequently, he completed his training in advanced endoscopy at Kyushu University Fukuoka Japan. He was also associated as assistant professor (transplant hepatology) with the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, an autonomous institute under the aegis of the Government of Delhi till 2011. He joined Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in September 2011.
Dr. Praveen Sharma has a very large number of publications to his name in peer-reviewed national and international indexed journals and has also contributed chapters to textbooks. He has won several awards for his presentations at conferences and other professional efforts.
