He holds an MBBS degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, which he obtained in 1983.
In 1996, he was awarded a prestigious fellowship in TB research and operations by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the USA.
He has been an integral part of many research works with Indian and overseas trial sponsors, including ODA (UK), AMGEN (India), Pfizer (India), CSIR-OSDD, and many more.
